Why people call us back

Dumpster rental that fits the job, not the other way round

Most people call us in the middle of something stressful — a basement that finally has to be dealt with, a remodel that starts Monday, storm cleanup piling up after a rough stretch of weather, a parent's house that needs clearing. The last thing you need is a pricing puzzle or a container that turns up two days late.

So we keep it simple. You tell us roughly what you're getting rid of and where it needs to sit. We size it right, quote a flat rate that covers everything, and tell you exactly when our own truck will be there. Then we show up.

Our yard sits at 330 Stoke Park Rd in Bethlehem — a Lehigh Valley city built around the old Bethlehem Steel plant site, now home to SteelStacks and the Sands Casino Bethlehem, with the 18th-century Colonial Industrial Quarter and Moravian historic district anchoring the north side and Lehigh University and Moravian University anchoring the south and center. From here we run across all of Northampton County and out into the surrounding Lehigh Valley, to Easton, Nazareth and Hellertown, and across into Lehigh County to Allentown and Whitehall. Our drivers know which narrow South Bethlehem rowhome streets need a careful approach, which newer subdivisions out in Bethlehem Township and Hanover Township have HOA rules worth checking, and what a Lehigh Valley nor'easter does to a driveway that's already going through a freeze-thaw cycle.

  • Right-sized advice. We'd rather put you in a 15 than have you pay for air in a 30.
  • Honest weight allowances. Stated in tons on the quote, not buried in terms.
  • Flexible rental periods. Standard is seven days; keep it longer if the job runs on.
  • Proper disposal. Sorted and diverted where possible, PA DEP rules respected on every load.

The process

How it works

Four steps, one phone call, no online forms to fight with.

  1. 1

    Call and describe the job

Tell us what you're clearing and where it will sit. We ask a few questions about weight and access, then quote the right container and a flat rate on the spot at (484) 510-8967.

  2. 2

    We deliver fast

Call before noon and we can usually deliver the same day; otherwise it's on the ground the next morning. Our own driver lays boards under the rails and sets it exactly where you want it — you don't even need to be home, just keep the spot clear.

  3. 3

Fill it at your own pace

Standard rental is seven days, and it's easy to extend. Load heavy material flat on the floor, keep everything level with the top rail, and keep banned items out.

  4. 4

    One call and it's gone

Ring us when you're done and we'll send a driver out. We collect, weigh, sort what can be diverted and dispose of the rest properly ourselves. No chasing, no paperwork.

Reviews

What our neighbors say

A sample of the feedback we've had from customers around Bethlehem and the surrounding Lehigh Valley.

  • Gutting a hundred-year-old rowhome a few blocks from the Colonial Industrial Quarter isn't like a normal remodel — the street is narrow and parking is tight on top of it. Harringtons figured out a placement that didn't block my neighbor's spot, and the container never once got in the crew's way for five weeks of work.

Meredith T.South Bethlehem — Rowhome Renovation

  • I manage a few rental houses a few blocks from campus, and turnover week is always chaos. Harringtons had a 15 yard on the curb before my cleaning crew even arrived, and the driver knew to work around the tight street parking without me having to explain it.

Marcus D.Near Lehigh University — Rental Property Turnover

  • Clearing out my father's house in Hanover Township after he passed was one of the harder weeks we've had. Harringtons let us keep the container a couple of extra days without making it a thing, and the driver who came back for it helped us carry an old chest freezer down the front steps. Small kindness, but it mattered that week.

The difference

Why Bethlehem keeps calling Harringtons Dumpster Rental

  • We answer the phone

You get one of our own people who actually knows the schedule, not a call center reading from a script. Most quotes take under four minutes.

  • One flat rate, all in

Delivery, pickup, a stated weight allowance, disposal and tax are quoted together up front. If the number changes, it's because you asked for something extra.

  • Same-day when you need it

Call before noon on a weekday and there's a good chance we can have a container on your driveway the same afternoon. Next morning at the latest.

  • Your driveway is protected

Boards go down under the rails on every residential drop, whether it's a narrow rowhome street in South Bethlehem or a newer driveway out in Bethlehem Township or Hanover Township, at no charge.

  • Disposed of properly

We sort and divert what we can and follow PA DEP waste rules to the letter, so nothing you hand over turns into someone else's problem.

  • We don't slow down for a Lehigh Valley winter

Nor'easters, ice and a driveway that's gone soft with freeze-thaw are just part of the season here. Our drivers plan around it instead of rescheduling around it.

Answers

Frequently Asked Questions

How quickly can you get a dumpster delivered in Bethlehem?

If you call before about noon on a weekday we can usually deliver the same afternoon, and next-morning is standard the rest of the time. Winter is our least predictable stretch in Northampton County — nor'easters, ice storms and freeze-thaw cycles can all slow a delivery down or change where a container can safely sit, so we watch the forecast and would rather reschedule a drop than have a driver on the road in a squall. Musikfest in the summer and the Christmas City holiday season both bring real event traffic through downtown Bethlehem too, which can add time to a delivery on those specific days. If your project has a fixed start date it's worth booking a few days ahead. Storm cleanup calls get moved to the front of the queue where we can.

What does your flat rate actually include?

Delivery, a standard seven-day rental, pickup, a stated weight allowance in tons, disposal at a permitted facility, and state and local taxes. There's nothing hidden underneath it. The only things that would change your number are keeping the container past the rental period, going over the weight allowance, needing it relocated on site, or putting banned material in it.

Do I need a permit for a dumpster in Bethlehem?

Not if it sits on your own driveway or private property, which covers the large majority of our residential drops — no permit is required anywhere in Northampton County for a container on private land. If the container has to sit on a public street, City of Bethlehem, PA is the office to confirm a temporary placement permit with for an address inside Bethlehem. If your job is in one of the boroughs or townships we also serve, or across the county line in Lehigh County, check with that municipality directly before you book, since each sets its own rules.

Will the truck damage my driveway?

We lay protective boards under the container rails on every residential delivery at no charge, and our drivers know how to spread the load rather than pivot-turn — that matters on the narrow rowhome streets common in South Bethlehem just as much as on newer paved drives further out in Bethlehem Township or Hanover Township. That handles the ordinary risk. A driveway going through a winter freeze-thaw cycle, or one already softened by an ice storm, is a different conversation — tell us and we'll pick a placement that works.

What can't I put in the dumpster?

Pennsylvania restricts a number of materials from ordinary landfill disposal — paint, solvents and oils, tires, batteries, hazardous chemicals, propane tanks and gas cylinders, and medical waste among them. Call us and we'll tell you exactly where each of those should go instead, or point you to Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (PA DEP) for the full rules.

How long do I get to keep it?

Seven days comes standard with every rental, which is comfortable for most home cleanouts and single-trade jobs. If you need longer, just say so when you book — extension is easy and we'd far rather extend you than have you rush. Contractors on longer builds usually run a standing swap-out schedule instead.

Do you serve towns outside Bethlehem?

Yes. We regularly deliver across Allentown, Easton, Hellertown, Nazareth, Fountain Hill, Whitehall, Bethlehem Township, Hanover Township, Coopersburg, Freemansburg, Northampton, plus the roads and communities in between, including across into Lehigh County. If you're near the edge of that circle, ring us — we usually make it work.

Can I get a dumpster for concrete, brick or dirt?

Yes, but it needs to be a dedicated clean load in a smaller container — usually a 10 or 15 yard, since heavy material like concrete, brick and fill dirt hits the weight limit long before it fills the box. That comes up a lot here with foundation and masonry work on the area's older stone and brick housing stock. Keeping it separate from mixed debris also means it can go to a recycler rather than the landfill. Never mix concrete with household junk or wood.
